Shubham Upadhyay, a resident of Uttam Nagar in the national capital, was arrested for posting two bomb threat messages to draw attention after seeing similar news reports on TV, the police said.
According to authorities, the group is suspected to be operating together as part of an international in-flight theft racket.
The boy had sent the mail "just for fun" after being influenced by the news of another teenager who made a hoax bomb threat call a few days ago, deputy commissioner of police (IGI Airport) Usha Rangnani said.
The boy wanted to check whether it could be traced back to him or not, police said.
